lastgasp art laboratories Green Monster Septic fuzz

Green Monster Septic fuzz by lastgasp art laboratories: Dirt dirty enough to be labeled septic..

From L.A.L.

The GREEN MONSTER septic fuzz (GM2)is an effect
pedal to create a septic distortion.
Characterized by a dirty, broken and rotten sound. Bad handling!

GREEN MONSTER is back with four knobs! There is an easy to use sound which the first GREEN MONSTER (ultra fuzz) was never able to create, but the sound is still putrifying! Genuine septic sound can be found here!
From the left; "LEVEL", "SENS1", "SENS2" and "SENS3". "LEVEL" controls the overall output level when the effect is on. "SENS1", "SENS2" and "SENS3" controls distortion level, tone and character with balance on these three knobs. There is an AC ADAPTER jack on top of the pedal. Connects the DC 9 volt AC adapter with a 2.1mm barrel-type negative tip. This is the first "GREEN MONSTER ultra fuzz". The hard to use pedal gives useless sounds. The original septic rotten sound is here.
Ease of use: It has volume and three sens controls... all three sens controls interact with each other... In a almost infuriating way... which at times is fun.

Sound: This thing MANGLES you sound! it can do a few "normal" fuzz sounds but what it excels at is broken and crumpled reactions or the sonic nature.

Build: Seems to be Godzilla proof!

Do you feel you playing is like polishing a turd? Need to flush away all normal tones? Then wade into the distortion with the Green Monster Septic fuzz

M.A.S.F. EPILEPSY

Epilepsy by M.A.S.F. Fuzz so extreme you might have a seizure.

From M.A.S.F.
兇悪爆音発振Fuzz Effector

Fuzz Effector violent explosions oscillation.
It's called "EPILEPSY". Be caused by abnormal neuronal discharges cerebral "epilepsy EPILEPSY =" pedal bearing its name.  "Epilepsy" is the main symptom of sudden involuntary movements, or "convulsions" as is, "EPILEPSY" involuntary spasm that oscillation of the main symptoms.

Only two of the Epilepsy and Volume knob operation.
Volume is labeled, but that it not only affects the sound oscillation over the position.
Title knob entitled Epilepsy is the same as hitting tone has the effect, and it differs from a normal effect of reaction will affect the sound too much like oscillation Volume.

Two knobs and effects by setting the guitar lead in front indicates a completely different reaction.

Depending on the battery power and sound will change even more bluntly.

To give Fuzz sound loud oscillating-dirty Epilepsy is very simple, you should not oscillat
e in reverse is very difficult, Volume, Epilepsy, equipment pre-stage can be met entangled in exquisite four items of the battery .

Ease of use: there are two controls- Volume and EPILEPSY.  EPILEPSY controls the gain and oscillation, Volume controls Volume AND.. oscillation!... yep! Both controls are totally interactive one must explore how they, and your instrument's and amp's controls all interact.

Sound: Over all- Fuzz sound is a raw gritty fuzz with a lot of bite. oscillation is extreme and starts screaming whenever you stop playing ^_^ All the controls on the pedal and all your other gear interact to the insanity... >_<  x_x  >_>

Build: Great! nice knobs, cool finish, tuff build.

Tired of pedals that say they are EXTREME but really aren't? Need Oscillation that can make people go cross-eyed and chuck something at your head? Then you will go into convulsions over the M.A.S.F. Epilepsy!

Dwarfcraft Devices Hair of the dog

Hair Of The Dog by Dwarfcraft Devices: Fuzz so thick and heavy you will be howling at the moon!

    From Dwarfcraft Devices:
It’s descended from Eau Claire Thunder, but tweaked a bit to tear up your bass guitar, and of course, it will work on your smaller, wimpier instruments such as guitars or baritones or Casio keyboards.
The bass friendly tones are helped along by a noise gate and a “low blend” allowing you to dial in some of your undistorted low tonez into your mix.
    HAIR OF THE DOG!!

A: Input - This is where you stick the 1/4” audio cable connected to your instrument B: Output - This is where you stick the other cable, connected to amp or other pedals C: 9v power - 9v DC center negative “boss style” plug
D: Bypass - Turns the effect on and off E: Volume - Adjusts the loud and quiet F: Mix - Blends in clean low frequencies from your dry signal G: Release - Noise gate cutting out low level signals and slightly lowering gain H: Is for HAIR – Controls the level of distortion YOUR FIRST HAIR OF THE DOG SESSION:
    1. Connect instrument to “A”
    2. Connect power to “C”
    3. Connect “B” to amplifier or other sound reproduction device 4. Turn Volume “E” down all the way, and “F”, “G”, and “H” all the way up 5. Sound your instrument, and slowly raise volume until you hear sound 6. Turn “F” to both extremes, you will hear the available tones 7. Experiment with “G”, a noise gate can be very handy to eliminate hiss between notes 8. Slowly roll back “H” as you sound your instrument to hear the range of distortions
    available
    9. Experiment!
Ease of use: See above^... This pedal takes a little while to get the hang of the gate and blend controls, the controls are pretty interactive so you will have to adjust the volume and gain at times when you mess with the blend and gate. But then that brings home #9: experiment! for there are some great sounds in here!

Sound: BIG, thick and gnarly! This thing keeps lows! the blend isn't even really needed for keeping lows, but it is nice for adding extra texture or for getting a bi-amped sound. This is in a way muff-like in the it's big and hairy-ness but doesn't have the failings of a muff like low loss or scooped mids. The gate is really a cool feature and really expands the way the pedal responds to your playing and signal.

Build: Great! You will notice mine is not the standard art but has a gag etched into it for why click here

So if you need THICK, BIG, HAIRY, fuzz to stir you animal nature take a bite at Dwarfcraft Devices Hair of the dog!

    Guyatone FZ-2000

The FZ-2000 by Guyatone, big, roaring, oldschool fuzz!

    From:Guyatone

THE LAST FUZZ YOU'LL EVER NEED
    FZ-2000 GUYATONE FUZZ 2000
When Guyatone first set out to create the ultimate fuzz pedal, they looked to the past for inspiration. Thus, the Fuzz 2000's circuit design was based on the most famous units of yesteryear, most notably the legendary Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face. However, while researching these vintage units Guyatone discovered some flaws in their designs. So, rather than simply "cloning" these vintage pieces, Guyatone set about to solve the problems and deliver the perfect fuzz.
So what were the problems? Most of the classic fuzz units of the 60's used germanium transistors to produce their distinct, bottom-heavy, dynamically responsive tone. Unfortunately, germaniums have two inherent problems that make circuits designed around them unstable. First, they have very large tolerance ranges, making the sound of pedals using them vary widely from unit to unit. Second, germaniums are extremely temperature sensitive, which means that the same unit can sound entirely different from day to day or even hour to hour.
The answer that manufacturers came up with in the 80's was to design circuits with more stable components that clipped in the high-frequency ranges. However, with the increased high frequency distortion, they had a tendency to mask the original guitar tone. With all this information at hand, Guyatone designed the Fuzz 2000 based on the original circuits, but used FET's in place of the more unstable germaniums. This design allows the FZ2K to realize both the "low frequency" fuzz of vintage units as well as the "high frequency" fuzz of later designs, all the while retaining the dynamic responsiveness and transparency of tone that guitarists require from a fuzz.  By varying the position of the Fuzz 2000's Drive knob, a variety of fuzz effects can be obtained.

Ease of use: Two knobs Volume [this adjusts the volume] and Drive [fuzz] and a bright/normal tone filter switch, very easy, really you don't even need thumbs...

Sound: It sounds like a fuzzface but bigger. It has huge lows, is very responsive to playing attack and instrument signal. In a word: THICKFUZZ!

Build: Tank-like, also has a super cool battery compartment.

If you need big godzilla-like oldschool fuzzation to smash the world before you then stomp on a FZ-2000

    Mellowtone Wolf Computer

Wolf Computer by Mellowtone. A fuzz-ital revolution to open the heavens!

    From Mellowtone:
Snarly, searing triple silicon fuzz with Level, Attack, Squelch, and Volt  controls. Traditional crunchy fuzz tones, overdrive and distortion, synthy  textures, oscillating motorboating, dying Atari sounds, glitching  arpeggiation, pseudo sitar tones, and more!
    Controls:
Sag - Controls pitch oscillation and pulls the Wolf Computer into  motorboating and other glitch tones.
Bias - Allows for adjustable squelching/gating of the oscillation.
Fuzz - Adjusts fuzz level, from lighter overdrives to big crunchy fuzz!
    Level - Output level.
Ease of use: Takes a bit of time to get the hang of really. With the Sag and Bias controls it really is a "feel" thing. Also, this pedal REALLY reacts to (and with) your instruments electronics and is interactive with them.

Sound: Can go anywhere from "Normal" fuzz sounds, To all-out synth, To total chaos! The one I got was supposedly modded for bass for Extra LowEnd . There are sooo many great sounds in this pedal! My fave, is the Octave Down setting and really I could see someone easily having two of these on their board.

Build: stellar! This pedals circuit is on perfboard and not on a PBC so they take a bit more work then your normal pedal. ALSO this is a custom color one, from a super short run Mellowtone did on ilovefuzz.com a few months ago, where those of use that got on the build list got to choose what colors the label was printed in, I love green soo...

Do you have a hunger for synthy fuzz that howls deep in your soul? If so then maybe it is time to hunt down this pack of fuzz!
